My dissertation theme is to model a block for coast protection that someone already had tested in laboratory. I intend to recreate the experiments but using OpenFoam and numerical modelling to validate the results and maybe improve the structure
About this service
The aim of this master thesis is to make preparatory simulations for the experiment using the open-source CFD code OpenFOAM®. The geometry in THEMFE is a simplified control rod, top-tube and guide tube geometry with only two upper and two lower by-pass inlets. The complex geometry is significantly simplified this thesis is a part of the requirements for the european masters course in integrated advanced ship design and offshore structure (emship) organized by university of liège (ulg), belgium –coordinator, ecole centrale de nantes (ecn),france,,university of rostock (uro), germany, zachodniopomorski uniwersytet technologiczny File Size: 4MB Master thesis: Implementation in OpenFoam of a thermal-fluid analysis for thermal internal flows Auteur: Martinez Carrascal, Jon Promoteur(s): Terrapon, Vincent Faculté: Faculté des Sciences appliquées Diplôme: Master en ingénieur civil en aérospatiale, à finalité spécialisée en "aerospace engineering" Année académique: File Size: 6MB

The complex geometry is significantly simplified The details of OpenFOAM are described in chapter2, for now we only mention that OpenFOAM is based on a numerical technique called finite volume method (FVM). FVM is a mesh (or grid) based method where the computational domain is subdivided into several cells, together creating a mesh. The truncation error from a numerical solution can be seen as eFile Size: 1MB
